Gleeson Library 1st Floor, 2nd Floor & Basement Remodel

Project Categories: Education
This project involved the full renovation of the USF Gleeson Library‘s first and second floors, as well as the basement. The scope included converting a portion of the second floor to a new research laboratory, two classrooms, two conference rooms, seminar rooms, and student collaborative spaces. On the first floor the renovations included the reception desk and the conversion of two existing offices to study rooms. Nearly 95% of the print periodicals collection had to be moved to an off-site storage facility, and the removal of all the book shelves was required to install work desks. The basement portion of the project included converting the existing space into a work area for the center for instruction and technology, the information technology service help desk, the learning and writing center, and the speaking center. Also included was the build out of three new rooms for staff operations and students
