For many years, the Hyatt lobby had slowly been sinking into the bay fill causing the main entrance doors to bind together. MAI Construction was retained to perform structural and ADA upgrades to the main entrance. The project began with the demolition of the existing storefront entry system and entry concrete, which had slumped approximately four inches. Once demolition was complete MAI installed three 80 foot deep micro piles into bed rock and installed new grade beams to stabilize the foundation. The entire concrete entry area was regraded and replaced to meet current ADA requirements. A new lobby and entryway was constructed which included the installation of entry foyers and new main entry doors. The project was completed on time and on budget.
